Dieses witzige Video der 10köpfigen, australischen Afro-Funk Band „The Liberators“ ist ein Vorgeschmack auf das Debüt-Album, das sie am 20. März auf Record Kicks veröffentlichen.

Nick schreibt:

From afrobeat to funk, jazz-dance and vintage soul, The Liberators touch on a wide range of sounds, all fully portrayed in the 10 tracks that compose this self-titled. Formed by Dojo Cuts‘ guitarist and producer Nathan Aust, this band also features special guests Roxie Ray (Dojo Cuts / Lack Of Afro) and Jojo Kuo (Fela / Egypt 80 / Daktaris), and is introduced by Antibalas frontman and afrobeat guru Sify Duke Amayo (Daptone Records / Ropeadope / Afrosound Records), who wrote the liner notes of the album.

Record Kicks is pleased to present the new music video for single „Rags To Riches“, from the self-titled debut album by Australian 10 piece combo THE LIBERATORS, due out worldwide on March 14th, but available now exclusively here at the RK website, on CD/LP/Digital. The video was anticipated by a brief teaser some weeks ago, which further fueled the buzz and excitement surrounding this afro-funk supergroup from Sydney. Produced by Don’t Look Back Pictures and directed by Ken Karpel, the film clip, which you can watch below, is reminiscent of the best blaxploitation and kung fu movies of the 70s, with a protagonist „so bad he makes Shaft look white!“, and backed by the funky grooves of monster track „Rags To Riches“.
